Shannon Huot was born in Milwaukee, WI and did move out of Milwaukee for most of her childhood. Most of her family lives in Milwaukee County, so it was easy to stay connected. She moved back to the city when she turned 19 and has been living here ever since. Her husband has lived in Milwaukee his whole life and is very familiar with City and everything it has to offer.
Shannon has worked in Milwaukee County for a couple of different financial institutions, but her home for the last 5 years has been with a not-for-profit organization called Educators Credit Union. She started as a loan officer working at one of the branches located on Appleton Ave in Milwaukee. For the last 2 1/2 years her office has been located in Racine, but she divides her time in both cities. She is now a trainer, educating and advising staff to be the best they can for members. The financial industry is very competitive, so she works hard with the staff on member service skills besides just technical skills. Shannon also likes to work within the community.
Since her time with Educators, she has volunteered her time with great organizations as: United Way (Racine & Milwaukee), Teen Approach (Milwaukee), Latino Entrepreneurial Network (LEN), YMCA (Racine), Hispanic Business & Professionals Association (HBPA), and Money Conference (Kenosha, Milwaukee, Racine). She hopes with becoming a part of this great program, Future of Milwaukee will help her to build more relationships within the Milwaukee County and allow her to continue to help with non-profit organizations.
