Meet the Class of 2008
 
   

Jill Denson is currently a Prenatal Care Coordinator with Children’s Community Health Plan an entity of Children’s Hospital and Health Systems. Jill has worked primarily in child welfare organizations.  She has held positions as a Child Welfare Worker, Supervisor of Case Management Services, Child and Family Therapist and Program Manager. Jill is passionate about issues that affect women and children, especially those who struggle to live in Milwaukee’s most impoverished neighborhoods.  She has vast experience developing and implementing innovative social service programs that promote the health, safety and well-being for children and families affected by poverty.

Jill graduated from St. Joan Antida High School. She went on to receive both her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  Jill’s concentration as a Graduate student was Child and Family with a specialty in Child Welfare. Also while in graduate school Jill had the opportunity to study Child Welfare practices in Bristol, England. She has continued her relationship with UWM as a social work field instructor.

Jill was born and raised in Milwaukee.  She has two children. Her interests include traveling, cultural events, theatre and reading.
