Meet the Class of 2008

Deb Weiner has lived in Milwaukee and Waukesha counties since 1980 after growing up in a small town near Madison and earning her undergraduate business degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  An MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management followed in the 1990s.

Health care has been Deb’s “industry” of choice since earning her BBA, in multiple leadership roles in hospitals and medical groups plus 8-1/2 years in consulting.  Today she is the Director of Hematology, Oncology, Transplant, & Immunodeficiency Services at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.

Her community involvement is primarily in health-related issues: an advisor to a grassroots organization that seeks to improve the health in its rural communities; with the MACC Fund (raising money for childhood cancer research); and as a volunteer for an organization that offers camp and travel experiences to childhood cancer survivors.  She has also been an adult literacy tutor (reading and math).  Deb’s recreational interests include supporting local arts organizations (memberships, season subscriptions, etc.).

She is excited about this opportunity to join a new network of people interested in making our metro area a better place.
